ROYAL RUMBLE RESULTS

Match 1) Ric Flair vs. MVP - Career Threatening Match

I liked the decision for Ric Flair to wrestle MVP but what really killed it was how sloppy this match was. Though it told a good story, it seemed as if if was stuck in first gear. One part of the match that really bothered me was how the referee made a three count on Ric Flair. Though he quickly reversed his decision, I thought that that was just stupid. Ending came when MVP set Flair up for The Playmaker to which Flair reversed into a Figure Four Leg Lock and made MVP tap out.

Winner: Ric Flair by submission

[GA] Prediction: Ric Flair by submission

*3/4 - Like I said, very sluggish and not as good as their bout earlier in June at Vengeance: Night of Champions.

Match 2) Chris Jericho vs. JBL

So just like the bout before this, this match had a great storyline behind it but once again, was somewhat lost. I liked the intensity the two showed but that wasn't enough to carry a huge storyline. The crowd wasn't too fond of Jericho botching his running bulldog as well. To make matters even worse, he gets himself disqualified by hitting JBL with a steel chair!

Winner: JBL by DQ

[GA] Prediction: Chris Jericho by DQ

*3/4 - I liked the intensity the two provided but it's just not enough. The DQ ending didn't help the cause as well.

Match 3) Edge (c) vs. Rey Mysterio - World Heavyweight Championship

Out of all the matches on tonights card, in my opinion, this one was no doubt the best. It featured a hot crowd, great intensity, innovative spots, and a clever ending. Mysterio and Edge pretty much stole the show because they provided us with a very nice ending that told a story. The two fought for a good 15 minutes with back and forth action which then led to Mysterio giving Vickie a 619 and Edge spearing Mysterio who was about to hit Edge with a West Coast Pop!

Winner: Edge by pinfall

[GA] Prediction: Edge by pinfall

***1/2 - I just plain and simple loved everything about that match. It was quick, told a story, and had a sick finish. Matches like that make you proud that you're a WWE fan.

Match 4) Randy Orton (c) vs. Jeff Hardy - WWE Championship

Match 4 is the WWE Championship and is arguably WWE's hottest fued going right now. But will the two give us a showing that can live up to the hype? Like the other matches, the crowd is just hot and Jeff Hardy gave us some pretty sick moves. But that's not what mattered because in the end, Orton reversed a Twist of Fate into an RKO to pick up the win.

Winner: Randy Orton by pinfall

[GA] Prediction: Randy Orton by pinfall

*** - Hardy gave us sick moves which includes a moonsault out of the ring landing on Orton. Finish was pretty nice but one thing that bothered me was Hardy did those crazy stunts for this? To lose to Orton so Orton can lose the title at 'Mania to...well, you'll see.

Match 5) The 21st Annual Royal Rumble Match

The first two entrants were The Undertaker and Shawn Michaels. I liked watching these two fight but what was a shocker to most was that these two weren't even in the final four. Moving on to the ECW guys, I thought it was just bullshit to see that they made Morrison look like a joke, have Shelton Benjamin compete for less than a minute, have Chavo participate, not have CM Punk survive into the final four, and have The Miz get eliminated by Hornswoglle. Man, what also didn't help was having Cena win. I don't understand, if someone is injured, why do you bring them back to get the fastest push of a life time? That's just a slap to the face of guys like Shawn Michaels, The Undertaker, Triple H, and even Mark Henry. If I saw Henry win I can honestly say that I would be a happy guy. The man has worked his ass off for what? To get spit on by "internet haters" and Cena fans? No, just no.

Winner: John Cena

[GA] Prediction: CM Punk

***3/4 - It was a great Rumble up until Cena came. Anyone would have been a better selection, and yes, even Hornswoggle.

SHOW RATING: 7/10
